Hill Town situated in the mountains to the north of Hanoi not far from the Chinese border. travelers often consider the hill station of Sapa and the outstandingly beautiful valley around it the highlight of their trip. The region is home to more than 20 colorful ethnic minorities all wearing their traditional attire and working rice terraces of ever changing hues. The hill tribes meet up in town to trade with each other as well as with foreign visitors.
Night 1 - Friday: Hanoi - Lao Cai
Car will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Hanoi train station to catch the night train soft sleeper with AC to Lao Cai station. Overnight on the train.
Day 1 - Saturday: Sapa - Suoi Ho - Ta Phin - Sapa (B, L, D)
Our guide picks you up at Lao Cai railway station and transfers you to Sapa town by bus. After checking in a hotel and freshening up we trek to Ta Phin. The whole day trekking following the buffalo trails, we trek up and down hills through the forest and on the terraced rice fields and visit the villagers of Black H'mong tribe in Ma Tra and Suoi Ho villages. We pass schools with scenic views of terraced rice fields and picnic lunch on the way and then continue our trek to Ta Phin with Red Dzao ethnic group. We meet the our car & transfer back to Sapa. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2 - Sunday: Muong Hum Market (B, L, D)
After having breakfast in Sapa we go to the Muong Hum Market by a van or car. It takes us 2 hours to get there. This is a colourful market situated in a small village in the mountain. You will see several different minority groups here but mainly the Flower H’mong people. The local people come here not only to buy and sell clothes, vegetables, meat and cattle but eat and drink wine together as well. In the afternoon we have 2 hour trek up to Nam Pung village where we can meet Ha Nhi ethnic group and understand little more about their lifestyle. After the village we go back to Lao Cai station for the night train to Hanoi. The guide sees you off at Lao Cai train station and takes you on the train.Overnight on the train back for Hanoi.
Day 3 - Monday: Hanoi - Arrival
Getting back to Hanoi from Sapa trip so early at around 5am, taxi to hotel on your own. Tour ends
